A 2 hour group nutrition class that focuses on how to maximize your health for your baby and your pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. This class is designed to help the family learn what foods are beneficial, how to shop for high quality, affordable foods, how to read labels, and how to boost your health with herbs. The goal of this class is to help that family and mother know how to prevent disease and complications, have less pregnancy complaints, and how to nourish herself so her labor will be easier and less

Hospital Birth Class

If you are planning to have your baby at home or at a freestanding birth center, this class will give you the nuts and bolts of labor. Learn what happens before, during, and after birth, as well as variations of labor. While comfort measures and relaxation are taught in this class series, the “Comfort Measures: Amazing Coping Strategies for Labor” workshop compliments this childbirth class nicely. Workbook included. Class time 10 hours, typically broken up into four 2.5 hour sessions.

Basics of Breastfeeding

A 2 hour group breastfeeding class that focuses on physiology of breastfeeding, supply and demand, latch, and preparation. This class is designed to introduce the family to breastfeeding and discuss ways to prepare for the changes that come along with breastfeeding. The goal of this class to help the family feel prepared with the initiate breastfeeding, determine a goal for the length of time the mother plans to breastfeed, and give them ways to succeed through the first six weeks postpartum.

Advanced Breastfeeding

A 2 hour group breastfeeding class that focuses on pumping, storage of milk, return to work, complications that may arise, difficulty with latch, and supplementation of artificial milk like food or donor milk. This class is designed to help the family reach their breastfeeding goal despite possible complications that may arise. The goal of this class is to help the family prepare for the mother to return to work, discuss signs and symptoms of complications, discuss proper storage of milk, and discuss supplementation with products other than mother’s milk.

Mamabites
New Moms Support Group

Our monthly group for new moms.  Come and make new friends that can share the challenges and celebrate the triunphs that the first year of motherhood brings.  This group is for moms and babies ages newborn through 1 year.

We meet on 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 10:30am-11:30am.

Partner Support

DONA Certified Doula Jessica Ann from The Happy Mama Place will be hosting a free community workshop geared at preparing and teaching moms-to-be and their birth partners, Yoga poses and gravity enhanced positions designed to speed up the labor process while reducing labor discomforts. Your birth partner will gain the skills to help keep you focused, relaxed, and more comfortable during labor. This workshop is open to all stages of pregnancy!
